A Winning Poker Strategy - It's So Simple, It's Stupid If You Don't Do It

Here is a poker strategy that you must use in no limit poker tournaments:

Let's say you entered a no limit poker tournament. It's the middle of tournament. There are 40 players left. You have an average sized stack.

At your table, there are nine players and everyone is playing fairly predictable poker.

A player in middle position raises three times the size of the big blind. Another player calls. You are on the button with pocket 4's. You decide to call, hoping to hit a set. The players in the small and big blind both fold.

The flop comes A-7-6 rainbow. Rainbow means that all the suits are on the flop. That means flushes, straights, etc. are all present.

The first player checks. The second player checks. Now it's up to you. What should you do?

You have pocket 4's. Just an ugly pair of 4's with three overcards on the board. What should you do?

If you have any kind of a hand, you should bet. You have no reason not to bet. That small bet you could have made a lot of money with a monster hand.

If you don't have a hand, like a big blind, and another player bets, I advise you to call. If you are in the blind and the other player is in the big blind, I advise you to call.

This is a tough spot. What should you do? Give up? Has the all in player hit his hand? It's too soon to give up.

Why?

Because the player in the big blind has already shown weakness. Even if he doesn't have the nut hand, if he made a big raise pre-flop, he could have a better hand than you.

And, post-flop, the bets will be bigger if he hit the nut hand.

Why did he make a big raise?

Because he wants you to fold.

If you are going to call all ins, you need to have a really good read on the players around the table.

If you don't, it could cost you a lot of money.

This is a situation where an A-K can definitely get you in trouble.

Why?

If you raise an Ace pre-flop, you put yourself in a very difficult situation. Assuming the Ace don't give you a better hand than any of the players in the hand, you only have a weak hand, and should fold.

What should you do?

If you don't have a good read, and you think you are beaten, it's time to fold.

But, if you have a good read, and you believe you can still win the hand, you need to value bet, or attempt to take away the pot.

Your read is just an interpretation of the players around the table. Any interpretation is just as valid as the other.

When you play multiple tables, and you are very confident that you have a very good read, you can play low limit poker as long as you bet every hand. If you bet every hand, you will have no problem getting players to fold.

If you are an internet player, you want to play in internet poker rooms that offer you the opportunity to bet every hand. If a player is internet savvy, they can probably get that information from a site.

Pay attention to the betting habits of the other players. With the added responsibility of acting as the dealer, you'll know if a player has a time limit to act, and if so, bet slower.

Play low limit poker in internet poker rooms that offer tight game. Tight game is a form of discipline. Tournaments for example, are maybe a 10 person sit and go.

If a players is loose and they frequently call or bet, you know they are probably playing a lot of hands and they are playing at a loose table.

You can't change your game entirely, that's a given, however you can slowly build your stack and increase your bets while you are winning.  Situs Slot Gacor Stacks in poker, are like fortresses, once you have one everyone else wants to be honest.

In a tournament you don't want to get knocked out before you build up your stack. If you are lucky enough to survive till the bell rings, the stakes haven't gone up. So be patient.

My wish is that of becoming a perfect poker player. That would be awesome. Why not be that person that beats the other poker players at the table, ha!

Good luck in your poker tournaments.
